Comfortable and supportive

I purchased these compression socks for my upcoming trip to Australia that involves a 17 hour flight. I have never worn compression socks and expected to have to struggle to get them on. These socks were so easy to put on and are very comfortable. I happy I was able to find these compression socks on Amazon. They had an excellent rating.

I love travel sons

First of all, I love travel sons. But I got two different shades of grey with no indication beforehand of that difference. One set of two is decidedly more of a bluish grey, the other set more of a brownish or tarnish grey. And I was disappointed in the original selection process to find no blacks available. But, easy enough to put on and also easy enough to take off; comfortable. A tad too long for my short legs -16" from below knee to ankle and heel of foot.

Save Your Legs when you Travel!

I travel a lot for business and had heard others talk about compression socks...but I never really thought they would make much of a difference. Then my wife talked me into getting some....and I should have done it a LONG time ago. I am 6'7" and traveling on planes is very cramped and uncomfortable for me. Wearing these socks does help improve the circulation in your legs and when you are finally able to stand again after a long flight...you feel a lot better! I would highly recommend these socks to anyone who spends time on airplanes, or in any environment where you get stuck sitting for long periods of time.

Did the job!

When I originally got the socks I thought that they might be too big. They were easy to get on for compression socks. Then I went on my trip which included a 15 hour flight round-trip. I wore the socks both ways. And they worked perfectly. Besides keeping my feet, ankles and calves warm, I had no problem at all with swelling. The last time I took this trip, same flight time, I did not wear compression socks and my ankles were swollen for a couple of days. I am happy I bought these and will use them again.

The last time my husband was on an airplane, his feet swelled and he had to wear flip flops for two days. We decided to try compression socks and since these came in XL, we decided to try them. We recently went to California and he wore the socks. His legs did not swell and the socks were comfortable. He would recommend wearing them the day before traveling to get the feel of the sock as he never wore compression socks before. Washed great - hand washed and line dryed. We bought the socks in black. Well made.

which means they're like "girdles for the legs"

The upper band was too tight and narrow for me because I have wide calves (they're about at wide as my lower legs are long), so I *VERY carefully* undid the stitching and can now fold it over to make the band wider. But I don't think people with normal width-to-length-sized lower legs would have much of a problem with the upper band. So, for me, these were a little bit long, BUT if they are going over people's knees or, as a couple described, up to the thigh, then people are putting them on wrong. And yes, these are SUPPORT socks, which means they're like "girdles for the legs", so of course they don't go on as easily as regular socks. There is a technique to it, which ideally *should* be learned from a health professional, or at least looked up online at a health website.

Great Product!

I travel overseas every couple of years, and I am sometimes walking or riding on a plane or bus for 24-36 hours at a time. In the past I have had problems with my feet and ankles swelling or getting ugly red splotches around my ankles. On my latest trip, I wore these socks, and they made a tremendous difference! I didn't have any of the problems I had before. The best part for me is that these socks are tight enough to keep my legs from swelling, but not so tight that they are uncomfortable or leave marks. I wore these socks for 36 hours straight on my flight out and 24 hours straight on my flight home, and they were awesome! My only regret was not buying more than 1 pair, which I am definitely doing for my next trip!

Travel Socks

My husband bought these socks as the doctor recommended them. He said that they are quite tight and a bit uncomfortable to wear; however, I think it is possible that they are meant to be rather tight to help compress your legs.

Tall Large Woman finds comfy

I am a tall size 16 pant woman. I have always said that you can find it on the internet for things that work. Buying mens socks is the closest I can get. I am a comfort before fashion girl so I have settled for men's socks that fit in dark colors as opposed to women's socks that fit in feminine shades. I have been searching for a sock that comes over my calf. Most hit mid calf on me and lessen the circulation and fall down. Theses socks do not. It is wonderful. My one star less is because the industry needs to wake up and adjust their sizes for taller women. I think tall skinny women get by, but could be more comfortable if their socks hit below the knee, and tall large women would just appreciate girly colored socks that fit. However until that happens I cannot says enough about the comfort, support of these. I wear them with work clogs.

My favorite travel sock

I've been using these travel socks for a few years, and I've been very happy with them. They provide enough compression that it helps to circulate the blood in my legs while sitting, without being so tight that I'd have to limit my use. I have poor circulation in my legs, but nothing severe, so these are the perfect balance for me. I use them on road trips, when flying, and while sitting at my desk for extended periods of time. I will continue to use, and replace them as needed over the years to come.

Support without sliding down

I like that these socks are very supportive, yet not an impossible task to put on. They stay up all day and don't sag at all. I've purchased these a few times and have increased my stock so that when I wash a pair or two, I have backup pairs until the wash is done. Very good socks over many others I have tried.

A friend of mine recommended I bought these for a long-flight (10 hours) trip.I must say they truly made a difference! Even though they feel a bit tight and the material is not what I would call "soft"; you can barely feel them! And my legs weren't tired or stressed when I came off the plane. I put them on about 10 min. before the flight fearing they would constrict my legs for too long; but upon arrival i wore them still for another 3 hours more or less (until I got to my hotel room) and they really did not hurt, or constrict or were uncomfortable at all!If you are planning a long trip, buy these!

Not Happy With These Socks

My calves are too big for these socks. When ordering, from what I could glean from the Amazon site, the company's website and Amazon reviews, I believed the largest size would be large enough for my calves. They were quite a bit smaller. I'm not sure of my calf measurement, but I think it is about 20". I had to turn the sock down and wear as a short sock. They may have still helped me on our recent airline flight, but I'm not certain of that, and I also don't know how much better my legs might have felt had the socks actually fit as described. There were brands on Amazon that had specific measurements that included my calf size (looked fairly unattractive, however), and I would be looking for a product like that in the future. If my calves were quite a bit smaller, I might have loved these socks. They look and feel fine when wearing. I am disappointed with my purchase and the information available to make an accurate choice/decision.

They Work Well for Swelling

We travel a lot with flights up to 18 hours. Lately I have been having a problem with my ankles swelling, and it takes a day or two for them to go down. These socks have stopped the swelling. They are relatively easy to put on for compression socks. They aren't like compression hose that you have to struggle and struggle to pull them over you heel. I am a 5'4" woman and wear an 8 1/2 shoe size. The sock is a good fit, but they are a little long for me. I simply fold down the top so they are just below my knee. They are still comfortable, but the best part is my ankles don't swell anymore.

No more jelly legs

These socks are recommended for "Economy Class Syndrome" or deep vein thrombosis when people get stuck in long flights in cramped seats with little opportunity to get up and walk around. They are available in sizes; I got large and the color I bought was grey, which is a medium cadet grey, not a charcoal grey. The ankle area has more ribbing, for extra compression. This is a nice design.I first started wearing compression socks when I had a job that required frequent overseas travel. Once, after a 10 hour flight from Frankfurt to San Francisco, I had to stand in a line 2 hours (yes, 2 hours) to get on a bus to go pick up the rental car. Ask me how happy I was about that. I nearly passed out and my legs felt like sacks of jello. They felt like jello as I deplaned and it only got worse. I stopped in a pharmacy in Europe, near where I lived and asked the pharmacist if they had anything for travel, and they had compression socks. The next trip I took was very long, but my legs felt wonderful at the end. What a difference! My doctor also WARNED me about my height and DVT (deep vein thrombosis.) I don't travel quite as much anymore, but now I wear these on long flights, and even on bus trips or car trips, any time I'm sitting too long. When I try to pick up socks like these at the local pharmacy, they are always out of my size or out of them completely. For some reason, they don't stock our local stores very well. So I order these online to get the type I want; I like black ones rather than tan, as they look nicer under my clothes if I'm wearing black shoes. These are grey, which look good with jeans or grey flannel slacks and are very helpful for travel.
